Our Story
Downtown Designs is an inclusive gallery and studio that supports artists with disabilities.
We started 10 years ago, primarily designing jewelry, and have since grown immensely. In addition to jewelry, each artist works in a variety of different mediums, such as painting, ceramics, and fiber arts. A few of our new passions include sculpture, hand-built pottery, mosaics, embroidery and weaving, mainly using tabletop, rigid heddle and lap looms.
Our gallery provides a space for other local artists in addition to our own artists-in-residence. In the spirit of sharing space and creativity, Downtown Designs aims to collaborates with local organizations for gallery exhibits, community art projects, artisan fairs, and workshops.
Our Sister Studios
Studio 57 is an art studio where
creativity knows no bounds. S57 provides art instruction/workshops, exhibition opportunities and small business development for emerging artists, craftspeople, and photographers.
Committed to serving the
rich cultural diversity of our community, we offer a wide variety of affordable programs, classes and events. The Collaborative works together with other non-profits, local businesses, artists, volunteers, schools and interns to assist in making creative opportunities accessible to all.
